On May 13 and 14, Brussels hosted one of the most significant events in the field of quality assurance in higher education: a working group organized by the “Quality Assurance Fit for the Future (QA-FIT)” project. This meeting, part of a series of activities aimed at exploring and expanding the horizons of quality assurance, featured the participation of prominent members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
The Valencian Agency for Evaluation and Prospective (AVAP) was represented by its general director, Javier Oliver, who actively participated in the sessions. The focus groups provided a platform for discussing in-depth the emerging findings from surveys conducted on higher education institutions, students, and other quality assurance agencies.
The QA-FIT project’s main goal is to assess the effectiveness of the current framework of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). Through comprehensive mapping exercises, critical analysis, and the exploration of innovative approaches, the project aims to adapt quality assurance practices to emerging trends and developments in the educational field.
With events like this focus group in Brussels, the QA-FIT project not only seeks to gather perspectives on the future of quality assurance in higher education but also to promote the development of policies that support alternative and more effective quality assurance methods.
