The Decree 174/2002 of the Valencian Government establishes the possibility of introducing additional remuneration in the pay scheme of teaching and research staff, both civil servants and contracted, at the public universities of the Valencian Community, within the framework of their budgetary possibilities.

The additional remuneration is awarded by the Social Council of each university, upon proposal of the Governing Council and, in all cases, following a positive assessment of the applicant’s individual merits by AVAP, in accordance with the Resolution of 21 January 2011 issued by the President of the Valencian Agency for Assessment and Foresight, which establishes the criteria and procedure for the evaluation of individual merits.

Specifically, AVAP assesses teaching and research mobility merits for the purpose of awarding additional remuneration. The universities are responsible for submitting applications for assessment to AVAP before 31 July each year.
