The Decree 174/2002 of the Valencian Government establishes the possibility of introducing additional remuneration in the pay scheme of teaching and research staff, both civil servants and contracted, at the public universities of the Valencian Community, within the framework of their budgetary possibilities.

The remuneration is assigned by the social council of each university at the proposal of the governing council and, in any case, subject to a positive assessment of the individual merits by AVAP. It is the universities that submit the assessment applications to AVAP before 31 July of each year.

Specifically, AVAP assesses the teaching and research mobility merits for the establishment of additional remuneration. It also recognises teaching activity (five-year terms), dedication to university management and academic promotion, certified by the universities, as well as the research activity of university professors (six-year terms), certified by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI).

EVALUATION OF ADDITIONAL REMUNERATION FOR TEACHING STAFF IN 2025

In accordance with the provisions of Decree 174/2002 of the Valencian Government and the Resolution of 21 January 2011 of the presidency of AVAP, AVAP is responsible for the assessment of individual merits for the establishment of additional remuneration linked to individual teaching, research and management merits of teaching and research staff.

In 2025, 104 applications were submitted and 103 were evaluated, as one application from the University of Alicante was not assessed. 4 appeals were resolved: 2 from Miguel Hernández University, 1 from the University of Valencia and 1 from Jaume I University.

The deadline for submitting applications ended on 31 July 2025, with the distribution by universities being:
