The Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP) participates in the GREENVERSITY project, coordinated by the Universitat de València (UV), together with educational, social, and economic institutions from various countries in the European Union. This consortium brings together experts in all facets of sustainability, which includes the connection of educational curricula with the needs of companies and social organizations.
Along with AVAP and the UV, the following institutions are involved in this project:
- Université de Bourgogne Europe (Dijon, France)
- University of Jyväskylä (Finland)
- Lucian Blaga University (Sibiu, Romania)
- NGO Santa Casa da Misericórdia Amadora (Lisbon, Portugal)
- F6S (Ireland) – a private organization dedicated to helping public bodies promote, communicate, and disseminate technical and research projects.
The GREENVERSITY project has a duration of three years and is dedicated to integrating the European Green Competences Framework (GreenComp) into higher education. Its mission is to provide universities, educators, and students with the essential skills and knowledge to lead sustainable transformations in society.
The goal of GREENVERSITY is to make green skills an essential part of higher education throughout Europe by developing a structural framework to implement GreenComp in training programs and initiatives involving students.
Key Areas of GreenComp
GreenComp provides individual skills, knowledge, and attitudes to reinforce sustainability. This framework aligns with the EU green skills agenda, fostering critical thinking, eco-responsibility, and proactive engagement with environmental challenges at all levels of learning. It focuses on four key areas with a total of twelve competencies:
- Embodying sustainability values
- Embracing complexity in sustainability
- Envisioning sustainable futures
- Acting for sustainability
AVAP’s Role
AVAP’s role in this project is to ensure a clear process for the official recognition of the GREENVERSITY framework in higher education institutions and for students.
