Higher education in Spain is based on the common education framework of the European Higher Education Area, which structures university studies in three cycles: Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate.
In Spain, the universities are responsible for creating and proposing the degrees to be taught and awarded. The study plans must be verified by the Universities’ Council and authorised by the respective Autonomous Regions.
In the Valencian Region, the Regional Ministry for Innovation, Universities, Science and the Digital Society is responsible for authorising them and AVAP is responsible for the evaluation of the related activities established by the Organic Law on Universities. AVAP’s evaluation report, together with the verification of the degree, are essential requirements for authorisation.
