The Support Programme for the Evaluation of the Teaching Activity of University Faculty (DOCENTIA) is a programme initially developed in 2007 by ANECA to assist higher education institutions in the development and implementation of their own mechanisms for managing the quality of university teaching activity and promoting its development. ANECA, AVAP, and the rest of the Spanish agencies have collaborated in the design and updating of this programme, which has culminated in the current version of the Guide (2025).

The DOCENTIA Programme takes as a reference the recommendations for Quality Assurance in Higher Education institutions developed by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) in its document Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area. Likewise, the design of the programme has taken into account the standards established by internationally recognised organisations in the field of personnel evaluation, such as The Personnel Evaluation Standards, developed by The Joint Committee of Standards for Educational Evaluation.
AVAP and ANECA have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the DOCENTIA Programme in the Valencian Community, and currently, AVAP carries out the evaluation, monitoring, and certification of the teaching activity evaluation models developed by Valencian universities.

Programme Documentation

For the evaluation of the designs, the monitoring of implementation and the certification of the evaluation procedures, the following documentation and tools have been developed on the basis of the integration and updating of the programme’s previous documentation, while also taking into account the ESG 2015 standards and guidelines for quality assurance.

Órganos de Evaluación

El certificado tiene un periodo de validez de CINCO años renovables. Aun así, durante el periodo de vigencia, deben superarse las actividades de seguimiento anual previstas en el documento Proceso de Certificación de los Modelos de Evaluación de la Actividad Docente del Profesorado Universitario.
