On June 19th, at the University of Alicante (UA), a workshop was held on the internal quality assurance system for continuing education studies. The event featured the participation of quality managers from universities in the Valencian Community. The opening conference was led by Francisco José Torres, Vice-Rector for Studies, Quality, and Languages at UA; Teresa Torregrosa, Director of the Continuing Education Center at UA; and Javier Oliver, General Director of AVAP.
María del Carmen Albert, from the UA’s Quality Technical Unit, and Teresa Torregrosa presented the final documents approved by AVAP and a computerized self-report model for proprietary degrees. Teresa Torregrosa highlighted the need for a flexible and agile procedure to evaluate proprietary degrees while maintaining internal quality control.
Francisco Torres emphasized the importance of adapting the implementation of proprietary degrees to each university and the effort of all institutions in quality systems for continuing education studies. Javier Oliver underscored AVAP’s role in facilitating quality management in continuing education. Roberto Romero from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) also participated, explaining the adaptation of the quality assurance system at UPV.
During the workshop, representatives from Valencian universities shared their doubts and thoughts, generating a constructive and participatory debate on the internal quality assurance system for continuing education studies. This dynamic allowed for the exchange of ideas and experiences, contributing to the improvement and unification of quality criteria in continuing education throughout the Valencian Community.
