On 11 April, the ENQA Members’ Forum 2025 concluded in the city of Paphos (Cyprus). This key event brought together European quality assurance agencies to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of higher education.
The Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP) had the honour of attending this forum alongside representatives from across Europe, all sharing a strong commitment to advancing towards more sustainable, collaborative, and improvement-oriented university systems.
A space for dialogue and shared improvement
The forum was opened by Douglas Blackstock, President of ENQA, and Mary Koutselini, President of the host agency CYQAA (Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education). Both emphasised the importance of joint efforts in addressing the challenges facing higher education in Europe.
The event focused on the main challenges of the European university system, with special attention to innovation, sustainability, and the essential role of quality assurance agencies in supporting institutional development. AVAP had the opportunity to exchange good practices, common concerns, and strategic approaches in a collaborative and mutually enriching environment.
A European environment of collaboration
The forum allowed participants to strengthen ties between agencies, explore new avenues of cooperation, and gather valuable insights to continue promoting the development of more effective and responsive quality assurance systems.
AVAP would like to thank ENQA for organising the forum and CYQAA for their warm welcome and outstanding work as the host agency. Participating in such events contributes to enriching evaluation processes and strengthening ties within the European Higher Education Area.
