The Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP) is an independent institution created with the aim of guaranteeing the quality and excellence of Valencian higher education and innovation systems through evaluation and foresight.
AVAP has its own legal personality and assets, as well as full capacity to act in order to achieve its aims. With this, it is attached to the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society.
The agency is based on the values of independence, objectivity, excellence and transparency, to which are added those of technical and scientific competence, as well as compliance with legal requirements and legal certainty in all our actions.
AVAP’s Management Committee is committed to quality, continuous improvement, compliance with customer requirements and the needs and expectations of interested parties in the following services: evaluation of higher education and evaluation of innovation and foresight in higher education systems.
In the same context, the agency’s functions include:
- The accreditation and evaluation of both university institutions and teaching staff and other related activities established by the Organic Law on Universities and other current legislation.
- Evaluation of technological, research and development programmes.
- Analysis of new technological, scientific and university demands of use to the Valencian Community, carrying out foresight studies.
- Evaluation and accreditation of the quality of university centres, their policies and programmes.
