On January 20th, the Ministry of Universities and CRUE (Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities) inaugurated the National Forum for the Reform of Research Evaluation.
This Forum, held at the Aula Magna of the University of Barcelona, brought together the most relevant institutions and figures in the field of research evaluation.
In addition to Joan Subirats, Minister of Universities, and Juan Romo, President of Crue and Rector of the Carlos III University of Madrid, the rector of the Catalan institution, Joan Guàrdia, and the president of the Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) and Rector of Maastritch University, Rianne Letschert, who also gave the opening speech, participated in this event.
Javier Oliver, Director General of AVAP, highlighted the importance of reaching consensus and common agreements in the field of research evaluation. With that goal in mind, the Forum was created to become a joint working and reflection space with all universities, where ideas and good practices on research evaluation reform can be shared.
This initiative involves creating spaces for reflection, analysis, and dialogue with all universities, research organizations, quality agencies, and administrations that have an interest in research evaluation reform to contribute to the improvement of our current system.
